[in]solidarity

On Monday, February 18, 2008, an article appeared in the University of Colorado at Boulder Campus Press titled “If it’s war the Asians want... it’s war they’ll get” by Max Karson. This article sparked public outcry and outrage throughout the campus, and now, throughout the country. Whether or not the article counts as satire, the fact still stands that there is a great deal of mutual misunderstanding between the races and cultures that call themselves American.

In-Solidarity was born out of the lack of action toward unity. This campaign seeks to unite not only Asians, but people from a diversity of backgrounds and cultures in racial understanding and acceptance. Join in on this movement on May 2, 2008, when people of all backgrounds across the nation will wear a shirt supporting this cause.

Visit your local APIA organization for their shirt, or purchase an In-Solidarity shirt here. It is recommended that you contact local supporters and buy shirts in bulk, as it will reduce the total price per shirt. For more information, check out the Angry Asian Man Blog.

A huge thanks to the University of Kansas for hosting such an amazing and memorable event. Because of the massive amount of time and effort put in from the KU Planning committee, the 2008 Spring Conference was a huge success. Hope everyone who was there gained valuable experience as well as many new friends, I know I did. For everyone else who couldn't make it, please look forward to the upcoming conferences.
